September Classes

• Adjustable Size Jelly Roll Quilt - Full day class; Monday, September 23
  ​We'll make a 63" x 79" quilt in class, but you'll be able to use this technique to create a quilt of any size on your own. Pattern included. Class is suitable for beginners.
• Fat Quarter Twist - 2-evening class; Monday September 23 and September 30
  ​This quilt uses 8 coordinating fat quarters, plus some yardage. Depending on the fat quarter collection you choose, this quilt is suitable for anyone! It finishes at 64″ x 76″, which makes it a great throw/couch quilt size. This is a great beginner quilt. You make the border while sewing the blocks, so it goes together quickly. No special rulers or tools are required. Pattern is provided.​
• Beyond the Basics: Free Motion Quilting with your Domestic Machine - Afternoon, Monday, September 30
  ​In this class, we'll go "beyond the basics" and learn some new designs and ways to combine multiple designs. Our resource for this class is the book "Doodle Quilting," by Cheryl Malkowski. If you own the book, please bring it. If not, you can purchase it when you sign up for class. We will warm up by quilting a pre-printed quilt top, and then move on to practicing designs from Cheryl's book and learn how to combine designs to effectively quilt any quilt on our domestic machines!

October Classes

• Squared Squares - 2-full days or 3 evenings, Monday Oct 7 and 14, Saturday, Oct 19 and Sunday, Oct 20, or Mon-Wed, Oct 21-23
  ​In this class, you will learn a technique to create a variation of the Pineapple Log Cabin Block. Choose from 3 evening or 2 full days. The 2 day class will be most useful to those who want to make the throw or queen size quilts.
• Adjustable Size Jelly Roll Quilt - 2-day class, Friday, Oct 11 and 18, or 4 evenings, Tues-Fri, Oct 15-18
  ​We'll make a 63" x 79" quilt in class, but you'll be able to use this technique to create a quilt of any size on your own. Pattern included. Class is suitable for beginners.
• All Our Hearts - 4 evenings, Mon-Thur, Oct 7-10
  ​This is a beginner class. Never quilted before? This class is perfect for you. Learn to cut strips and strip piece accurately. Quilt is 56" x 73" -- the perfect couch quilt. Kit contains all the fabric you need to complete the top.
• Beginning Knitting - 1/2 day class, Saturday, October 12
  ​In this first class, you'll learn to cast on, knit, purl, cast off. We'll be making a cozy cowl. Required kit includes pattern, needles, and hand-dyed yarn.
• Easy Yarn Dyeing - Half-day class, Saturday, Oct 12
  ​Learn to dye yarn with your crockpot. Please bring your crockpot if you have one, although we will have a few for use. We'll start the dyeing at 9, and have an open crafting time while the yarn processes. You'll be done by 12 pm. You may also choose to combine this class with the beginning knitting class offered the same day.
• Beginning Crochet - Full-day class, Sunday, Oct 13​
  This class features the Griddle Stitch Scarf. Students will learn to chain, single crochet, and double crochet. Cost includes all supplies.
• English Paper Piecing Christmas Ornament - Sunday evening, Oct 13​
  Learn to make a Christmas Ball using English Paper Piecing in this 3 hour class. Supplies are included.
• Summer Camp Quilt Class - Full-day class, Saturday, October 19​
  This is a really fun, easy quilt that uses one strip roll ("jelly roll") and 1-1/4 yard background fabric, and 3/4 yard of a contrast fabric.
