Published 11 days ago • 2 min read

Dear friends,

We are finally ready to accept reservations for retreats hosted by Patti and Cass at the new space.

These will be 4-day retreats at which you can work on your own projects.

The dates are:

  • July 25-28, 2024
  • Aug 30-Sept 2, 2024 (Labor Day weekend)
  • Sept 26-29, 2024
  • Oct 24-27, 2024

The cost is $350/weekend and that includes meals. You’ll need to pay a $100 deposit when you book; the balance is due 30 days before the retreat.

Weekends start at 9 AM on the first day and run until 5 PM the last day. The meals included are lunch on the first day through lunch on the last day. There is an option to exclude meals. There are two kitchens at the space, and if you choose to cook your own meals, you’ll have to do so in the upstairs kitchen. There is a discount of $50 for this option. Use code MEALS at checkout.

Once a room is booked, it won’t be available anymore, so don’t delay if you want to sign up!

How to sign up:

1. Go to https://makercraftstudio.com/mcs-retreats/

2. For each room, there is an Availability icon:

3. Once you click that icon, you can navigate to any of the dates listed above (they will be listed in green):

4. If you want to use the MEALS promo code, this where you’ll do it:

Otherwise, click on Continue.

5. On this page, you can check out (if you are only registering for a single date), or you can click on +Add to Booking to add another date:

The terms for these retreats are as follows:

  • $100/retreat is due at the time of booking.
  • Balance is due 30 days before each retreat.
  • You can choose to pay the full amount at the time of booking.
  • You can request a refund (minus a $25 administrative fee) up to 30 days before the start of each retreat.

If you have any issues booking, just hit reply and I’ll do my best to help you!

We also have availability for retreats at Nora’s in Denver, PA, in May 2025 and in Lancaster, PA, in September 2024. Visit the links to learn more!

  • May: https://internationalquiltersguild.org/may-2025/
  • September: https://internationalquiltersguild.org/september-2024/

We are trying to get a group together for a weekday-only retreat at Nora's in Denver, PA, the week of August 19-24, 2024. Email us if you're interested in that retreat.

Finally, we are still working on the technical requirements for you to book your own retreats and events at the space. If you're interested in booking a retreat, email us and we can help you out!

Hi, everyone, So much accomplished in the past month! Patti retired from her "day job" on April 1! Patti and Joe traveled to Texas for the eclipse (saw some of it... it was cloudy), and for a long-overdue visit with her family. While they were gone, Rob continued work downstairs and replaced the windows on the first level. So much more light now! New window! Outside of new window Gail and Toni worked on painting the trim in the living room upstairs. Gail (left) and Toni Living room trim color...

Since we got the building permit, so much work has been happening! The electrician has been running new wiring all over the building. New wiring The guys at Dapper Scrapper cleaned out the back room on the first floor and demo'ed the old first-floor bathroom. We recommend them highly! Professional work at a reasonable price. Back room - Before Back room - After Tristan from Dapper Scrapper working on demo'ing the old bathroom Old bathroom - gone! Rob framed out the ADA-accessible new bathroom...

We have gotten the building permit! This is a BIG step, and our electrician is already hard at work. Here he is installing lots of floor outlets. Rob and Joe have been working on the porch. They repaired water damage, raised up the whole porch to fix its sagging (we have new period columns to replace the old 4 x 4's), painted new floor boards, and replaced the old roof with a lovely green metal roof. Patti and Cass attended QuiltCon last week in Raleigh, NC, where we got a chance to learn,...
